Aka 赤 is made from 31 meters of hand-painted 16mm film combined with contact microphone recordings of a shinkansen/bullet train in Japan. The film explores time, memory, passage, and perception - breaking away from the linear flow of time into zones of complex temporality and sensory immersion. "Aka" is Japanese for "red."
